]]> While at SXSW we caught a hour with Wisconsin based ‘Field Report’. We’d both traveled from opposite ends of the country. Us from the West Coast, the band from just south of the Canadian border and we were all pretty stoked to be in Austin, Texas. Short on time we walked to the nearest hill and asked the boys to sing.

Chris Porterfield’s project Field Report has echoes of his time in a band with Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and members of Megafaun. But within Field Report it’s clear to see he’s very much his own man… and one of immense musical talent. His voice, one both delicately haunting and incredibly powerful is masterfully mixed with an innate songwriting ability
